(Eric Lutzens/The Denver Post) Going green(er) The entrance to the Meow Wolf Denver building, at 1338 1st St. It’s open Monday through Thursday and, before 5 p.m., costs $5.75 per vehicle. Expect to walk about 10-20 minutes to Meow Wolf from this closest outside lot, the 5th Street Parking Garage at 650 Walnut St. ![]() Outside of Meow Wolf’s modest, on-site lot, there’s one other close-parking option - and a few more further afield, given all the giant venues in the vicinity, from Empower Field and Ball Arena to Elitch Gardens. One of the more obscure details about Meow Wolf Denver is that its parking lot is only available on non-NFL game days at Empower Field at Mile High - with the exception of disability-accessible parking available daily on a first-come basis (see the Denver Broncos schedule at /schedule). As with the previous route (from I-25 North) the road loops around to drop you off at Meow Wolf’s parking lot. Turn left on Walnut Street, then follow that until you take another right to stay on Walnut. Interstate 70 east from Denver International Airport and I-70 west from the mountains will both take you to I-25 in downtown Denver, from which these more detailed directions begin.įrom downtown Denver: Take West Colfax Avenue to 7th Street, then turn right or left (depending on the direction of arrival) and continue through the Auraria campus. Most map-apps recognize the address (which was not the case for me a few weeks ago) and mapping your route is essential if you have a poor sense of direction - or are a visitor/tourist who’s unfamiliar with Denver’s cattywampus urban grid. Whether you’re driving, biking, scootering or walking, there are two main routes to the building, just north and south of it, and a variety of ways to patch them together. Here’s what you need to know about getting to 1338 1st St. The Santa Fe-based company’s third major installation is located in triangular lot most of us have only glimpsed from the highway - at the ground-level intersection of West Colfax Avenue, Interstate 25 and Auraria Parkway - or on the way in and out of Broncos games. But getting to Meow Wolf Denver, which sits just west of downtown in the shadow of Empower Field at Mile High, does require a game plan. The phantasmagoric, interactive gallery of sculptures, paintings and environments encourages exploration, and zero research is required to get started. There’s little that one needs to know to enter Convergence Station, Denver’s hotly anticipated new immersive art-and-entertainment experience from Meow Wolf, when it opens on Friday, Sept.
