They failed to support her emotionally, insisted that she was to blame for the rape, and never confronted the boy responsible for the rape. Gaslighting: This occurs in "Girl Dishonored" where a rape victim was gaslit by her entire campus.The real villain is the stepfather, who is in his right mind and knows full well who the girl is, but is just completely unconcerned. However, the mother's situation turns out to be about more than game addiction: she is suffering from Capgras delusion, which makes her think that her daughter has been replaced by an imposter, so she legitimately doesn't realize she's neglecting her child, instead thinking she's just ignoring the "imposter" (and the one time she's able to speak to her daughter without the delusion kicking in, she clearly does care a lot about her). The detectives learn a young girl had been forced to live in a cupboard under the stairs and almost starved to death due to her mother and stepfather being total game addicts, more concerned about their kid in a video game than the actual living child in the home. Gamer Chick: Partially deconstructed in "Bullseye", although there turns out to be more to the story.The Gambling Addict: Rollins, apparently, as of "Home Invasions." She confesses this to Cragen, and is getting help.Suicide, Not Murder: Scott was driven to suicide after feeling he had lost to his father yet again.Mama's Baby, Papa's Maybe: Jessie's mother had had an affair with Peter Wilder and she grew up believing he was her father.However, the test revealed they were not related. Daddy DNA Test: Jessie Lucas took one to find out if she and Scott had the same father, so they could extort Peter Wilder.Peter tried to take the gun away, but Scott still pulled the trigger. When he and Peter last spoke, Peter refused to pay up, and distraught about losing yet again, he pointed the gun at himself. When a test revealed that Jessie was not Peter's daughter, they still intended to follow through until she hacked out at the last minute.The truth finally comes out: Scott had stolen his father's gun. Jessie and Scott planned to extort Peter. The woman is Jessie Lucas ( Julianne Nicholson), who had grown up believing she was Peter Wilder's daughter. The detectives talk to Scott's girlfriend Karen, who had thrown him out after finding out another woman had given him a card from her gynecologist. A body found outside a prep school is identified as Scott Wilder, the estranged son of real estate magnate Peter Wilder.
